Treating Retinal Tears

View Video

Retinal tears can occur because of pre-existing retinal conditions like lattice degeneration (thin patches in the retina), prior blunt trauma, or the onset of a Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD). If left untreated, a retinal detachment can occur requiring more invasive surgery. Retinal tears are readily diagnosed and treated in an office setting and treatment can prevent progression to a retinal detachment.
